Sonorae is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your voice memories are yours alone. We do not collect, sell, or share your personal data with anyone.
Sonorae does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data with third parties. We do not use analytics tools, advertising SDKs, or tracking of any kind. Everything stays on your device.
Sonorae uses the microphone solely to record voice memos at your explicit request. Audio files are stored locally on your device and are never uploaded to external servers.
Sonorae uses GPS to anchor your voice memos to a specific place. Location data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted outside the app.
Background location is used only to send proximity notifications when you return near a place where you left an Echo.
Sonorae transcribes your voice on-device using Apple's Speech Recognition framework to detect your mood and suggest tags automatically. Transcriptions are stored locally and never sent to external servers.
Sonorae uses Google Firebase Firestore to store an anonymous counter of how many Echoes have been left in a geographic area. Only rounded GPS coordinates and a numeric count are sent — no audio, no transcriptions, no personal identifiers of any kind. This data cannot be linked back to any individual user.
If you have iCloud enabled on your device, Sonorae may use your private iCloud storage to back up your data. This data is accessible only to you and is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
You can delete any Echo at any time from within the app. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data from your device. The anonymous zone counter in Firebase is not linked to your identity and cannot be individually deleted.
